40mm Flats

They are Seven years war Austrians painted as no regiment in particular 

Against the Vampire Counts

 Got a game in locally against Sean and his Vampire Counts. I was playing the 2200 point Skaven list I had taken to the tournament, and Sean brought a Blood Dragons led force. 

I thought it would be fun to use a flank attack scenario Danny had written for the tournament. Players could place a core unit in reserve to come in on the flank on a later turn, much like Dwarf miners. I decided to put one unit of clanrats in reserve... this it turned out, was a bad idea

Another 6th ed Tournament at the Dragon!

 Last weekend headed to the Red Dragon in Ottawa for a 2200 point 6th ed WHFB tournament.

I got very few pics even by my standards, but in my defense it was a long day. Attendance was great with 14 players showing up, and a great time had by all. 

Warcry, Finally

 So I've had the Warcry starter set for some time now, and finally started giving it a try. 

I have to say it's pretty fun. I like the idea of being able to use all the random Age of Sigmar minis I've collected over time, and having some small painting projects is a nice break from army building.

Played a simple battle today Kruleboys vs Gitz. Objective was to have as many models on the higher parts of the terrain as possible. We're definitely still learning how to use the models and their abilities. 

Built Some Terrain

Was laid up from surgery for a bit and had some time on my hands. Rather than paint up a bunch of minis I figure my time might be better spent on one of the things I've really put off, terrain. 

Nothing to exciting, I really wanted to capture the look of the terrain from the Warhammer 4th and 5th ed battle reports I used to look at. 

6th Ed Tournament at Capitol City Bloodbath

 

Had the great pleasure of attending another 6th ed tournament last Sunday. The event was organized by Danny MacDonald and run during the Capitol city bloodbath tournament. 

Warhammer Fantasy 6th ed. tournament

 Went to a great event last Sunday in Toronto at the Sword and Board. 

Put on by Danny (Artonas), it was the second tournament I've been a part of. Turn out was decent with 6 players, unfortunately 3 people had to cancel at the last minute.

Swordsmen regiment progress

 I've got most of the swordsmen regiment done. I had already painted these guys 15 years ago and really just needed to re-base them and add their shields

Greatswords

 Have spent some time basing and cleaning up some greatswords I had. Together with some ebay reinforcements I will have a proper block of 25 of them. 

Altdorf contingent reinforcements

 

Working on the detachments for my swordsmen regiment, decided to re-paint the halberdiers as the paint wasn't much to start with. I also hadn't got into the habit of properly priming my minis at the time. 

The Grand Remustering

As long as I've played Warhammer, I've had an Empire army. 

My first force consisted of the contents of two sets of the Battlemasters game and a very few GW figures for command, sadly it's been lost long ago after several moves. 

I returned to Warhammer after many years travelling around 2002, the 6th edition starter box had Empire and Orcs and so a new Empire force was started. I managed to get a reasonable force together and played a few games before the travel bug bit again. Then work, more moves and other interests.
